Julia Middleton using NLP techniques – part 2 of 2

On 15th May, Julia Middleton and Common Purpose posted the first in a series of propaganda videos on YouTube attempting to present a positive image of themselves in response to increased exposure of their activities by the mainstream and alternative media.

Judging by the reactions so far, this attempt has backfired. If anything it reinforces the growing realisation that Common Purpose is an aggressive, deceptive and highly organised change agent whose function is to Sovietise Britain by infiltrating every area of public life and restructuring society through mind control.

These two videos are a compilation of Julia Middleton’s (CEO of Common Purpose) pronouncements on themes such as “humility”, “bravery” and “leadership qualities”. Although filled with apparently vague and banal statements, Middleton’s miniature sermons give us an insight into the type of conditioning to which thousands of men and women have already been exposed in Common Purpose’s courses and training seminars.

Brian Gerrish has talked about Middleton’s use of a mixture of motivational- or management-speak, New Labour-style political doublespeak, and a mild form of hypnotism called Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in which spoken language is carefully sprinkled with words or word combinations that suggest certain ideas, feelings and actions in the listener’s mind without his or her conscious awareness of what is going on.

An important example is Middleton’s favourite catchphrase “leading beyond authority”, with its embedded concepts of breaking down old structures, bringing in unorthodox changes from the outside, and preparing the way for a new regime. However, this is just one example: the technique is continually being refined and is practised so often by people like Middleton that it has become second nature to them.

Gerrish has also observed that the tendency to employ words in a deliberately suggestive or deceitful way has now spread from the political and crypto-political arena into other fields such as the media and public services. Manipulation of others through clever linguistic tricks is being promoted as the communicational norm in a bid to disrupt our instinctual sense of right and wrong.

Watching and listening to Middleton provides a good opportunity to discover where the phenomenon came from, so that we can start to develop strategies of our own to combat it. The first step is for as many of the population as possible to wake up to the psychological warfare operation being conducted against us by Common Purpose.
